Tunacardo Hoagie

Wanting to add the viral tuncardo sandwich to your menu but don’t know where to start, this simple recipe will make it your menu go to.

Ingredients

5 Kara Wholemeal Hoagies

4 cans of Tuna, drained

120g Mayonnaise

2 tsp Dijon Mustard

2 tbsp Capers, drained

2 tbsp Lemon Juice

2 tbsp dill

Salt and Pepper

300g Pesto

2 tbsp Honey

2 Large Avocados, thinly sliced

½ Red Onion, thinly sliced

200g Spinach

2 Large Tomato, thinly sliced

Handful chopped Chives

Process

Place your tuna, mayo, Dijon mustard, capers, lemon juice, dill, salt and pepper and place in a food processor and pulse until the mixture becomes like mouse, place in the fridge before service.

Take the pesto in a dish and combine with honey, add a small amount of siracha if you wish to make it spicy.

Take the hoagies and slice in half. On the lid and base spread on the pesto then spoon on the tuna mix. Add some slices of spinach, tomatos, avocado and chives and place on the lid and serve.
