Crumble Ice Cream Burger

For kitchen convenience this is a dessert made simple, using Kara’s soft sweet milk bun this is a delicious menu option.

Ingredients

4 Kara Milk Buns

400g Ice Cream of your choosing

 

For the crumble topping

120g plain flour

60g caster sugar

60g unsalted butter, at room temperature, cut into pieces

 

For the fruit compote

30g unsalted butter

30g demerara sugar

250g blackberries

¼ tsp ground cinnamon

¼ tsp vanilla

Process

 

  1. Preheat oven. Mix 120g plain flour and 60g caster sugar into a bowl. Add 60g unsalted butter, then rub into the flour using your fingertips to make a light breadcrumb texture.
  2. Sprinkle the mixture evenly over a baking sheetand bake for 15 mins or until lightly coloured.
  3. Put 30g unsalted butter and 30g demerara sugar in a medium saucepan and melt together over a medium heat. Cook for 3 mins until the mixture turns to a light caramel. Add the blackberries and ¼ tsp ground cinnamon and vanilla, and cook for 3 mins more.
  4. Cover, remove from the heat, then leave for 2-3 mins to continue cooking in the warmth of the pan.
  5. Take your Kara milk buns and toast. Spoon on 100g of ice cream and drizzle over the compote and then the crumble and serve warm.
