Take your slices of Fletchers Extra Thick White Sandwich Bread and generously butter each slice, and then carefully cut off each crust before cutting into triangles.

In a mixing bowl, carefully remove the yolks from all 8 eggs and discard the rest. Wisk the egg yolks with the caster sugar to create a mixture.

In a pan, carefully begin to boil the milk over a low heat (you can add the seeds of a vanilla pod if you wish for extra flavour) Once boiled, carefully whisk the milk into the mixture- this will be your custard.

Take an oven proof dish/baking tray and pour in ¼ of the custard mixture then line the bottom with half the slices of bread and top with some marmalade. Repeat this process 3 times and the finish with the zest of an orange. Carefully use a citrus grater to lightly grate off only the top layer of the skin. You want only the flavourful orange or yellow part of the peel.

Place the dish into the oven and bake at 180 °C for 20-30 minutes. Serve warm with cream.
