Kara, the market leading foodservice brand of Fletchers Group of Bakeries, has launched a premium range of floured products to build on huge success through its standard line.
Kara has expanded from the provision of its best-selling staple floured baps to create the Ultimate Floured range, which includes standard and premium baps and rolls. The new range taps into increasing market demand for premium food carriers which enable Out Of Home (OOH) vendors to upgrade their offer without spending excessively on expensive fillings.
Fletchers Group Head of Foodservice, Chris Haddy, said: ‘The launch of our Ultimate Floured range expands our existing top selling range of floured baps. It includes a premium DeliDog roll and a Premium Floured Bap in line with eating out trends, which increasingly demand gourmet sandwich carriers.’
‘These premium carriers complement three existing baps which have become widely regarded in the market for decades and allow operators to cover a broad range of carriers with the ability to increase their margins by offering value for money products with the potential to upgrade.’
Premium carriers are becoming widely accepted in the OOH market as fast-food demands lean increasingly towards more creative and gastronomic sandwiches, hot-dogs and burgers as an alternative to traditional staple meals such as Scampi and Pizza. Chris added: ‘The new range of baps are highly flexible and can be used as sandwich carriers, salad or soup accompaniments, breakfast rolls, burger carriers and for world food fillings like Jerk Chicken, Pulled Pork and hot dogs with Chipotle, Mexican and Bratwurst flavours.’
The Ultimate Floured range launch comes soon after Kara’s introduction of a new half and half sliced loaf to the foodservice market and is part of an increasing product diversification strategy which has helped Foodservice become the fastest growing sector for Fletchers Group of Bakeries. The Group was recently acquired by Finsbury Foods to create one of the largest speciality bakeries in the UK.
